Container Cleaning

1-Purpose
Medical Waste Disposal ensures that our reusable bio-hazardous containers are properly sanitized, checked for leaks and dried. This prevents cross contamination of other bacteria and chemicals as well as provide a Sanitized Container for the customer to dispose their waste into.

2-Scope
This SOP covers the bulk of Re-Usable containers that we utilize at Customer Facilities.

3-Responsibilities
Medical Waste Disposal is responsible for the Sterilization of all Re-Usable containers.

4-Process
• Sharps or Bio-Container
• Saturated high temp. Water and Steam at 250-300 °F
• Cleaning and Sanitation Jog
• Bleach Solution Comprised of Bleach and Dawn Soap.
• ODOBAN Sanitizer – Disinfectant

5-Procedure

  1. Empty the Container.
  2. Spray Bleach Solution Container enters through a High-Pressure High Temp(250-300°F) Sterilization machine which also utilizes Bleach Solution through  the wash process.
  3. Disinfection and sterilization take place inside Sterilization machine.
  4. Container is then removed from the machine.
  5. Container is dried with High Temp Air
  6. Containers receive a final Spraying of Odoban Disinfectant.
